2. UNSEEN MCQUEEN

SHOWstudio presents an exhibition of Nick Knight’s fine art prints, curated to celebrate Knight’s dynamic collaborations with Alexander McQueen and to coincide with the opening of Savage Beauty at the V&A. Similarly daring in their approach to fashion, the pair have been equally revere in their respective fields. Printed in monumental scale, these stunning visual tapestries are being shown together for the first time.

3. FLATPACK FESTIVAL

The “joyously inventive” (according to The Guardian) Flatpack Festival returns to Birmingham this weekend. Featuring an eclectic programme of arts, music, film & then some – highlights of the festival include voices of the Black Country, a selection of films from legendary West Midlands filmmaker Philip Donnellan and an exploration of future film (featuring Occulus Rift, zoetropes, DIY cinema and sci-fi)

4. YOU HAVE BEEN UPGRADED: FESTIVAL OF HUMAN ENHANCEMENT

Step into your future at You Have Been Upgraded, a festival of human enhancement is coming to The Science Museum. It will look at Biotechnology, sensory augmentation and the next generation of wearable technology. It’s an opportunity to meet leading scientists, artists and designers and have your say about where humanity is heading. What is normal? Who should have access to these advances? How far would you go to upgrade yourself..?

5. FREE BURGERS AT BUNSMITHS

The uber-hip Sebright Arms in Hackney welcomes the hotly-anticipated pop-up Bunsmiths to its pub on Saturday. Hickory-smoked beef brisket, apple-wood-smoked pulled pork and buttermilk fried chicken are among the next generation burgers on the menu. For vegetarians, there’s a veg fritter bun filled with spiced sweet potato, beetroot, coriander and chilli salsa.
