The Human Library
Big fans of literature and talking, here’s a little extra stunt that the team noticed by those kooky peeps over in Denmark. Bored of loaning out books from a library, Danish youth activists started the ‘Human Library‘ back in 2000; a mobile library project where people can loan out people to tell their stories – rather than books. The aim of this was to promote dialogue, reduce prejudices and encourage understanding, and is now an international operation.
Unity loves the idea that you could have a person tell you their real-life story, rather than something fictional – especially if it encourages inclusivity and creates more interactive, engaging conversation. This project has great potential to be something much bigger; perhaps book launches and brands could use the ‘Human Library’ with authors instead of the tired ‘author book signing’ method?
