Andy Spence and Tahita Bulmer are the founders of the
New Young Pony Club – Mercury Prize noninated, electo-dance wunderkids with a couple of amazing albums and a zillion amazing gigs under their belts they are bonafide music supremos. Unity has worked with them both on a couple of great projects (so far) including Crisis Consequences and Skindividual. In short...they’re the bomb!
If you were a shape what would that be?
Andy) Equilateral Triangle. I don't know why. Maybe because It can be a fulcrum and I like balance.
Tahita) Trapezoid - not square but not a triangle either.
What computer key are you?
A)Shift. Making everything next level. he he
T) Escape.
If you had a festival what would it be called and what would happen?
A) It would be called Wild. Everyone takes these pills that turn you into animals for the night. I can imagine people saying. "I've just done half a badger"
T) Revolver. There would be a revolving stage. Not much difference from the onlookers perspective but every stage crew on earth would want their bands to play.
Have you ever ordered “off-menu”? If yes, what did you have?
A) My life is off-menu.
T) Omelette. Its virtually impossible to order on-menu in one of these far flung European countries that are not familiar with the concept of vegetarianism. Like Germany or Spain.
What’s your hangover cure?
A) Fresh air and some morose music that makes you cry.
T) Scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms, buttered toast, hot tea and freshly squeezed orange juice.
If you could have an extra body part what would you have?
A) A third ear would be pretty good. Nice to have a spare.
T) A penis. I would forgo the delights of having a vagina so as not to confuse people while the penis was present.
Favourite year to be reincarnated?
A) 2222.
T) 2400 or whenever Star Trek is set to see whether the designers of everything really have forgone what we take for granted like digital screens and just gone for endless banks of blinking lights.
First single you ever bought?
A) Prince - Lets Go Crazy
T) Like a Prayer
Hoxton or Soho?
A) Soho. It has way more history and still manages to surprise me, unlike Hoxton.
T) Hoxton but only because the boys are marginally more straight.
What wouldn’t you do for a million pounds?
A) Watch Mamma Mia.
T) I would do pretty much anything for a million pounds as long as no one else ever found out what I had done.
If someone wrote a biography about you, what do you think the title should be?
A) Can I sleep now?
T) WANT.
What was your first pet called?
A) Guinea
T) Charno. He was a Siamese cat and he really loved cornflakes when they had gone soggy.
What would your ideal superpower be and why? Would you use it for good or evil?
A) To be able to vanquish fear with one look. I would hope this could only be used for good.
T) The ability to grant total happiness. I would use it for evil...somehow.
